Keynote Address - Student Data Privacy: What’s Required & How the Student Data Privacy Consortium Provides Tactical Solutions
What are the basic requirements of the major student privacy laws; FERPA, PPRA, COPPA, HIPPA, & CIPA? What are the operational impacts of each of these requirements on day-to-day policies and procedures at the district level? The Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) is designed to assist districts in addressing day-to-day operational issues around meeting student data privacy concerns and requirements. The SDPC is growing quickly with thousands of districts, state agencies and vendors represented, with alliances being formed in 16+ states. Current projects include; A Common Contracting Framework, Digital Tools Governance, and "Connected Privacy".
